What is the best-value activity in the Society Islands?
A shared lagoon tour with two or three snorkel stops covers the reefs, rays and motu that most visitors come for, and it costs much less than a private boat. Public beaches and town walks in Papeete and Vaitape are free.
What currency is used in French Polynesia?
The local currency is the CFP franc. Cards are accepted at many shops and tour desks, but carry some local cash for markets, small vendors and roadside fruit stands.
